The Story

Othello is a Moorish general in the Venetian army who has married Desdemona, a beautiful and virtuous Venetian woman. Desdemona's father, Brabantio, is enraged by the marriage and accuses Othello of witchcraft. However, Othello's loyal friend Iago, a cunning and manipulative villain, convinces Brabantio that Desdemona is truly in love with Othello.

Iago's plan is to sow seeds of doubt and jealousy in Othello's mind. He convinces Othello that Desdemona is having an affair with his lieutenant, Cassio. Driven by jealousy and suspicion, Othello becomes increasingly violent and unstable.

The tragedy unfolds as Iago's evil machinations push Othello over the edge. In a fit of rage, he murders Desdemona and then realizes his mistake. The play ends with Othello's suicide and the revelation of Iago's treachery.
